In late June 1988, 17-year-old Christopher Davis reported a terrifying encounter along the edge of Scape Ore Swamp near Bishopville, South Carolina. While changing a flat tire at 2:00 AM, Davis claimed he was confronted by a 7-foot-tall, bipedal creature with rough green scales, glowing red eyes, and three-clawed fingers on each hand. The entity reportedly chased Davis into his car, jumped onto the roof, and gouged the bodywork before Davis managed to shake it off and escape.
