The Omni Parker House in Boston — opened in 1855 by Harvey D. Parker — is often called one of New England’s most haunted hotels. Long-circulating claims include a figure identified as Parker (especially on the tenth floor), whiskey and cigar smells tied to Room 303, elevators stopping unbidden on the third floor, unexplained voices, and rocking-chair sounds with no chair in sight. Some stories rest on named employees and press interviews spanning decades; none prove a paranormal cause. Literary ties (Charles Dickens stayed here) feed folklore more than they document hauntings.
