In the 12th century, two children with green skin appeared mysteriously in Woolpit, England. Speaking an unknown language and wearing strange garments, they initially ate only raw broad beans. After adapting, the boy died, but the girl survived, lost her green tint, and explained they came from a sunless subterranean world named St. Martin's Land.
