So I worked with this girl many moons ago in Salem, a practicing witch life myself and she told me a fascinating story. It was about her mother (who for context is not into the esoteric or paranormal). She said her mother told her one night the dog was barking like crazy at the door. She couldn't understand what the fuss was about. She finally relented opened the door and the dog shot out and started growling and barking at the underside of the porch. Her mother she grabbing a flashlight said was thinking the dog was harassing some poor raccoon or possum just living it's life. So she tied the dog up away from the porch, turned the light, got on her knees and took a peek. She said she say a humanoid being about a foot tall, maybe less, with large wings (I *think* she said 'dragonfly like' but not 100% certain. Been years since this story was told to me), and the face was somewhat "bug like" with large eyes and lots of pointy teeth. It looked at his, hissed and scampered away to the other opening on the other side of the porch.
What I find so interesting is she was not into witchcraft or related like her daughter or I. As he daughter told me she was more or less non-spiritual and didn't really subscribe to the paranormal. Until that night. Also her description is very in line with classic fairy descriptions. The modern version of fairies are very watered down vs the more traditional versions of them. More insect or monster like are how they were traditionally depicted, written about.
None the less felt I should share since I really never told this story before that I recall.
