On the afternoon of 20 May 1967, Stefan Michalak of Winnipeg flagged down an RCMP cruiser on the highway at Falcon Beach, Manitoba. He told Constable G. A. Solotki that about noon, a mile or so west and two miles north of the beach, he had seen two craft, touched one, and been burned on the chest, shirt, and cap by a blast of heat. He was an industrial mechanic who prospected on weekends. Solotki saw a burned cap. Michalak would not let him examine the shirt.
