On November 5, 1975, 22-year-old forestry worker Travis Walton vanished from the Apache–Sitgreaves National Forests near Heber, Arizona, after his six logging crewmates reported seeing him struck by a beam of light from a hovering, glowing disc. Following an intensive five-day missing persons search and growing law enforcement suspicion of foul play, Walton reappeared disoriented at a payphone in nearby Heber. He recounted waking up inside a craft surrounded by non-human entities and human-like figures. The incident remains one of the most debated claims of alien abduction in history.
